Excel Additional Columns Forecast Price

Postby methodman » Mon Feb 22, 2010 1:39 pm

Can anybody tell me where this value comes from ?

It appears to differ from both Racing Post and Sporting Life.

Where is this additional column appearing as I've never seen it ?

I'm interested as I might be missing something !

In the menu Options/Preferences/Grid interface you can choose 'Projected SP'.

When you start logging to excel there is an 'additional columns' tick box on the right hand side of the pop up. There's all sorts there -- breeding, official rating, owner. I'm guessing this info, including the forecast price, comes from timeform.

I can confirm the forecast price is provided by Timeform.

Tried to use these columns today - picking 'form' and 'forecast price' for example but they didn't seem to populate and were just blank when I looked.

Are they working properly or is it just me !!?

Did you choose 'Enable triggered betting' ? Some extra functionalities don't work without that.

Yes, I had it set for triggered betting, so this wasn't the problem, but thanks for the suggestion anyway milfor.

It seems fine here. What races did you try it with?

Hi Gary,

I've just tried it with the 2.10 at Warwick with a new blank workbook and the columns are not populating for me.

I have a few other races up aswell on my workbook I use for betting and they are not populating either.

It must be something I'm doing wrong, any ideas to what that might be ?

Thanks for all your help.

This might be a longshot. Can you see the jockey's silks on the grid interface? If not check you have got "Show silks" ticked under "Display columns" in the grid interface preferences? If this column is not selected then the information won't be available to Excel.

I notice you are also not using the latest Beta. You could try upgrading. See http://www.gruss-software.co.uk/forum/v ... php?t=3922 for download link.

Gary,

it was your long shot that proved to be correct !! It was the fact that I needed the 'silks' ticking in the preferences.

Many Thanks.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
