This might be a longshot.
However, if I leave the laptop for a while & don't use it

Have you checked your power saving settings on your laptop? Nothing should be turned off after a period of time or there will be problems (except the screen).

Thanks for the suggestion Gary & I must admit when I first started using bots that one did catch me out for a while! However, my laptop is never allowed to sleep now, so it certainly isn't that. I'm currently in the process of reloading MS Office & hopefully it will resolve the problem, as it did for Os. Fingers crossed! I will give feedback when I've done it & tried some bets this afternoon..... Thanks again for your continued help.

Hi Christine

This may have nothing to do with it but I can get 'Market Loading - req's Pending' when my internet speed drops temporairly. Even when its restored that market is then locked and I have to open another and close it and then re-open the original.

Hi Drphil, that's interesting to know & definitely worth considering if the problem persists. When you get the error message, does it eventually clear itself or do you have to manually come out of the market to clear it? How have you resolved this issue or is it something you have to live with? I guess if this is the problem, the best way to resolve it would be to plug straight into broadband rather than using wireless (when I'm not available to check it's working), as I believe this gives a stronger connection?

Once I get the message, I only wait 15 to 30 seconds before opening another market so I don't know if it will eventually clear itself but i suspect not.

I never get the problem when connected to my home broadband, only when on the move using mobile broadband.

you can get that subscript out of range error if you have your bot running and you switch to another workbook running in the same Excel instance.

Thanks for all your input guys, it is much appreciated. I downloaded MS Office again from scratch & haven't experienced the errors again. I became aware that going into another Excel spreadsheet caused some conflicts, so now I avoid them until the bot has finished for the day, so that's definitely worth being aware of. I'm really hopeful now that I can use BA in the knowledge that it will run without problems & place the bets required.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
