How do I ensure that I take the SP when the market turns in play for every bet?

In excel you should enter in your trigger something like BACK-SP
In grid interface tick the keep SP option

Thanks for the reply Mac. I'm trying to place bets automatically. When I put a bet on via Excel but it doesn't get matched how can I be sure to get the bet placed at SP? If I tick "SP In Play" in the grd interface will that ensure that all bets in my excel file at least get matched at SP?

-SP
http://www.gruss-software.co.uk/Betting ... p/help.htm

Submits a bet using keep bet SP, i.e. an unmatched bet will not be cancelled when the market turns 'in play' and the odds will be converted to Betfair SP.
Please note that if the bet does get converted to SP odds and is a lay bet then your initial bet must have a minimum liability of 10 GBP to be accepted by Betfair.

example:
LAY-SP
would submit a lay bet which if not matched when the market turns 'in play' would not be cancelled and the odds converted to Betfair SP providing your liability is at least 10 GBP. Betfair adjust your stake so that the liability remains the same as when you intitially submitted the bet.

accordingly you can place BACK-SP

Hi,

It's as Mak suggested, you need to use the SP trigger modifier if submitting from Excel, e.g. BACK-SP

Ticking "SP in Play" from Betting Options has no effect on bets submitted via Excel.

Mark

Ah, the answer is simple, instead of using BACK or LAY, use BACK-SP or LAY-SP.

I didn't realise these triggers tried to match a bet before the off, I thought they were only useful when the market turned in-lay. Thanks guys!

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
