How quickly are additional columns populated

Postby ians1711 » Thu Aug 05, 2010 7:50 pm

Gary
I have silks selected so that I can see Form and Saddlecloth numbers in Excel. I cycle through the races - normally everything is OK because there are not two races at the same time. I use trigger -1 to move to the next race. As soon as I see the race name in 1,1 change I assume everything is ready to go. However, the form and saddlecloth numbers seem to be just blank until some time later. How can I determine when these fields have been populated after the rest of the race data has been updated?

Thanks
Ian S

They are requested on a separate program thread so they could appear at any time depending on how quick the response is received from Betfair. You can check for the saddlecloth not being blank as it is always blanked initially. ie. the first time you see a value for the saddlecloth that is not blank after you detect a different market name in cell A1.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
