for how long will the race be suspended ???

Postby brecki » Wed Sep 08, 2010 2:10 pm

Hi,

I need your experiences!

I have programmed that a lay bet will be placed 5 minutes before the off and will be greened on auto level profit at exactly 30 seconds before the off. But in rare situations it can happen, that the market is suspended at that time and my greening bet will be returned unmatched by the betfair server with the information EVENT_SUSPENDED.

That´s why I want to tell my programm to place the greening bet only, if the time is under or equal to 30 seconds AND the market is not suspended. So far so good, no problem about that.

But I want to know for how long the market will be suspended when a Non-Runner appears. Will it take 3 seconds to correct the odds using the reduction factor of the non-runner or will betfair need 30 seconds to to that and re-open the market ? That is important to me as if they need f.e. 30 seconds, then may be the next race has already been activated by BA and Excel is triggered to the new race, so a greening bet can´t be sent any more or in worst case will be fired on a horse in the next (wrong) race.

Who has experiences with that ???

Thank you for your informations.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
