Bet Ref error

Postby Shaun » Sat Sep 11, 2010 7:57 am

I have created a sheet that acts like a bookmaker ledger, you price up a market then place your lays, if they are unmatched then you cancel them and change the price.

Problem i am having is when i put in the CANCEL-ALL then put in the LAY bet sometimes i get an error ERROR_LOGGING_REF i am not sure if it is cause by the lay being placed before the bet has had enough time to cancel or what it may be.

I am looking for a more efficient way of canceling bets then resubmitting them at a different price and stake.

ERROR_LOGGING_REF suggests a bug as I didn't really expect to ever see this error. Next time you see this can you send the file name BA_Diagnostic.txt in the "C:\temp\Betting_Assistant_Logs" folder to admin@gruss-software.co.uk

LAYR and BACKR can be used to resubmit bets at different odds and stakes. You asked about these triggers previously, see http://www.gruss-software.co.uk/forum/v ... php?t=5320
Can you not get these triggers to work? If you use these triggers you don't need to use CANCEL-ALL, you only need to remove N from the bet ref each time.

Also if you are willing to send me a copy of the spreadsheet it should help me trace this bug. Your sheet may be doing something I didn't anticipate.

The reason i changed from using that trigger as i needed more VBA and that seamed to slow the sheet down, i will send you info as requested.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
