3rd party conflict request

Postby Livermore » Thu Nov 04, 2010 3:45 am

Hello Gary,

In conjunction with Betting Assistant I’m running a macro that automates the several keystrokes & mouse clicks that I repeat as I make my wagers.

The macro programme uses the formal “Window Title” to identify the correct window.

For example, my Betting Assistant Window is:

“Betting Assistant (ver 1.1.0.65z1) (Profile:Default) (current subscription expires in 352 days)”

My issue being that with the subscription count changing each day it requires the macro file to be edited each new day. No major task … but just another something I have to remember.

Whilst I appreciate unintended consequences of third party applications would not be a priority to your work, may I ask you to consider an on/off “toggle” for this information via preferences.

With thanks and apprecaition for BA - it's provided a tremendous improvement in my approach.

Regards,
Livermore

No problem. I hadn't considered you may want to do this. I will make it optional in the next release due in a few days.

Depending on the script you are using you should be able to shorten the windows title and still identify BA

I found this bit of code worked fine.

Code: Select all
WinActivate Betting Assistant
WinWait Betting Assistant
WinActivate

Appreciate the tip Shaun, I'll give it a go. We're certainly using the same script writer.

All the best,

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
