It's normal. See http://betfair-en.custhelp.com/app/answ ... lay/p/%20/

If it was a horse race the delay is 1 second, but if you enter a bet below minimum stake it requires 3 transactions and therefore 3 seconds.

Also it looked like it waited 3 seconds and then place the bet. What it actually did was place the transactions and then counted down 3 seconds while it waited for the responses from Betfair.

Sorry for digging up an old thread, but I've just taken out a subscription.

When the bet is placed and is ticking down, can is it possible to cancel it using a macro if the conditions in another related market go against the bet?

Thanks in advance.

No. Betfair do not allow you to do this. You do not get bet references from Betfair until after the delay, therefore there is no bet available to cancel.

Gary,

Thanks for the swift response.

So in this respect BA is slightly different from the standard BF interface where I get a chance to cancel my bet before it's accepted?

Kindest Regards,

No, you cannot do it on the website either. I challenge you to prove it

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
