INVALID_PRICE_AND_SIZE

Postby sjaak1943 » Sun Nov 28, 2010 5:42 pm

Today I had this error-message:
INVALID_PRICE_AND_SIZE
It's not mentioned in the helpfile.
What does it mean and how to avoid?

Sjaak

PS: I used Odds 10% less than SP!

I assume you were using Excel and this error appeared in the bet ref column.

It means what it says really. It means the odds and stake values were not accepted by Betfair. Are you sure the values in the odds and stake columns were in the correct format? Did you populate these columns using VBA or a formula?

You can for example get this error message if you put 1 in the odds column and 0.001 in the stake column. Both are obviously wrong and produce this error.

It was in the Betref column. Format was OK and I used a formula.
In column R: =if(Y5>0;Y5*(100%-$AC$1);""), where $AC$1=10%.
In column S: =if(R5>1;$AC$2/(R5-1);""), where $AC$2=25.
Column Y= projected SP

I cannot find anything wrong in BA so are you absolutely certain the stake and odds calculated were acceptable values? You could write some VBA to log the values when the error appears.

Today I tried again, changed nothing and it worked!

Strange thing now, the "CANCELL_ALL" trigger did not cancel remaning bets after the first one was matched!

=IF(AA6="";"";IF($AC$3<>"auto";"";IF($Q$1>15;"CLEAR";IF(AC6="";"";IF(AND($Q$1>5;$AF$1="Yes";$AD$3="Yes");"LAY-IP";IF($E$2<>"In Play";"";IF(AG6="Y";"";IF($AG$1<>0;"CANCEL-ALL";""))))))))

CANCEL-ALL only works if the bet ref column contains a reference even if it's not an actual bet reference. Did the bet ref column contain a value when the trigger column contained CANCEL-ALL? Your formula is too complicated for me to check without seeing it in operation in your spreadsheet. I am sure there isn't a problem with CANCEL-ALL.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
