Wrong Minutes

Postby gvigliani » Sun Nov 28, 2010 6:59 pm

Hello Gary,
I, as many know by now, I plan bots. A final problem in the data entered by BA on the Excel spreadsheet is that the minutes of the meeting are not just compared to the ones provided by Betfair instead. This error could be repercussions on the game that the bot is programmed to do. Think of a layata up 81-90 when the minutes are still 75 but as I've seen.
Thanks

I'm not sure what you are trying to say. Can you explain a bit further or does anyone else understand the problem?

I presume the countdown timer goes negative after the expected kick off time ? I think he may be using this to indicate how many minutes have elapsed but it would appear that the match kicked off a couple of minutes late.

what I'm saying is that the start of the second half of the game does not coincide with the time expressed by the value entered by BA on the Excel sheet.

The time sent by BA to Excel is the number of minutes elapsed since the scheduled kick off time. The API does not provide time elapsed from actual kick off or half time therefore it cannot be displayed in BA.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
