Cross Matching

Postby DFK » Wed Nov 24, 2010 10:24 am

Hi Gary
I am using version 66w4 at the moment, with the implementation of cross matching on all in-running races from today, will I be at a disadvantage using this version?

Regards DFK.

Whether you can see the virtual prices or not makes no difference to how you get matched. Just because you cannot see better prices created by cross matching does not mean you won't be matched at them.

I cannot really say if seeing the "virtual" odds gives you an advantage or not. I don't have an argument for either way. It's up to you. We will provide the option. Is there any particular reason why you don't want to use the latest Beta 1.1.0.66x35?

New version seems fine.

Gary,

What do we get pushed into Excel ? Is there an option to get or not get cross matching data or does that automatically happen if you select the right options in BA ?

Does that also mean earlier versions of BA cannot see cross matching data in Excel ?

Whatever you can see in the grid interface is what gets pushed to Excel. So if you have "Apply cross matching formula in recognised markets" ticked in preferences then the cross matched prices will appear in Excel.

Yes, previous versions of BA cannot see cross matched prices in Excel.

Hi Gary,

Do you know if cross matching is happening on the Grey Hounds and has it been implemented on all the Horse Racing apart from the UK?

Cheers,

Oli

As far as I know it is not active on greyhounds.
It is only active on UK and Ireland horse racing and only when the market is in play.

Hi Gary,

Thanks for that. I am having a look at the NBA and it appears that Betfair do cross matching on this sport. I have ticked the box so cross matching should be worked out in Betting Assistant but it does not, has this just been implemented for the horses?

Cheers,

Oliver

It's active on markets that I have specifically identified. So far it's Soccer, Tennis, Cricket, Snooker, Darts, Boxing, Rowing, Rugby and Horse Racing. I haven't got round to adding basketball yet. I will see what I can do about adding it in the next release. I have had to do it piecemeal because Betfair do not provide an indicator in the API. I have to review the markets to make sure cross matching is being applied.

You can tell if Betting Assistant recognises the market if you have ticked the option in preferences and you see the "XM" button above the prices grid.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
