Bets placed twice

Postby macdos01 » Thu Jan 27, 2011 1:21 am

Hi,

Just wondering if anyone has incurred this issue.

I use excel to place bets on specific horses. Once the bet is placed it then looks it up in MyBets and potentially updates the bet. Sometimes the market will move to the next race as it automatically goes 1 minute prior to scheduled off (which I prefer out of the auto pick options). If I then go back to the previous market it appears to have nothing in MyBets (or at least no bet reference to look up) and therefore places my bets again, so I now have bets placed twice on my selection(s).

Does this sound familiar to anyone and does anyone have a suggestion to avoid this happening. It isn't a big deal as it only occurs when I manually change the market back and i can then go and then get out of the extra position but thought I would raise it here to see what others had to say.

Alternatively I could just not go back to a market, but sometimes I would like to do so.

Thanks in advance.

It's logical if you log at the same sheet.
Try to split the races in the quick pick list into 2 groups with time gaps between them and log them into two sheets.

I would love to split the races in the quick pick list every second one in one tab, and the others in another. How might I do this? Is there a function to do this?

Sorry there isn't a function to automatically do this. Your only option is to delete the relevant markets from each quick pick list by using right click and selecting "delete market" from popup menu.

Pick the races every second one and press delete. It's easier this way.
Do the same and for the second tab .
It's not so hard as it sounds. It takes half a minute.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
