Override odds

Postby Bookmatch » Wed Jan 26, 2011 1:17 pm

If I click to lay a horse at 10.0 with override odds unchecked, and with fill or kill set at 1.0 second, can I only get matched at 10.0 (because that is what I had clicked on), or, if the price was to go bigger, would I then get matched at the bigger price?
Thanks.

The above question is a back bet, not a lay bet. Sorry.

You could get matched at better odds. Fill or kill does not affect "best execution".

Hi
I've only had BA for a few days.I've been"back dutching" the horses. A few times one of the bets goes inplay unmatched and I panic like hell because it is usually the favourite. Now I know I can carry the request inplay-- but could I use the overide feature,- if yes do I tick it inplay or before. Would it place the same precalculated stake at the best odds. I use a fixed liability for the Dutch.
Finally! could I put the fill or kill to good use in this context. I understand the "ticks" features are for placing opposig bets only.

Sorry the override odds feature does not work in conjunction with dutching.

I can't see how fill or kill will help in this situation. Your only option is to check if matched immediately after placing and reduce the odds of the unmatched bet if not matched instead of waiting for it to go in play.

Thanks Gary.
The software is a pleasure to use. Even under minimum stakes it seems lightening quick compared to what I'm used to.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
