Stop Loss / Tick Offset

Postby Bookmatch » Mon Feb 14, 2011 5:30 pm

I have set Stop Loss set to 4.9 with chase if unmatched checked, and a delay of 0.0, but for some reason I don`t get matched when the price comes in to 4.9 or less. Am I doing something wrong?

Have you also ticked level loss? Chase only works with level loss.

This is just a a guess at what the problem might be. If you have ticked level loss and are convinced chase stop loss is not working then I will need the diagnostic log file. It's named BA_Diagnostic.txt and is located in "c:\temp\Betting Assistant Logs". Please email it to admin@gruss-software.co.uk. Please include the bet ref of the original bet so I can trace it in the log file.

Yes, Level Loss is definitely ticked. I do, however, have several pages open and may be viewing a different page from the one with the Stop Loss. Does that make a difference? Is Stop Loss only triggered when you are in the page with the Stop Loss?

No, you can view other pages and it will still trigger. It will stop it being monitored if you changed the market on that tab though, even if you return to the market.

Ok Gary thanks. No idea why it hasn`t triggered then because everything seems in order. I will wait and see if it does it again and send you the relevant info. Just as a point of interest, when I looked in the transaction log there was no sign of the Stop Loss being triggered. Should it have been visible if it was triggered but not matched, or is it only visible if it is matched?

Even if not matched there should be an entry in the log so it sounds like it wasn't triggered.

Are you absolutely positive the price came down low enough? Are you aware of how it is triggered? If your initial bet was a lay bet then the stop loss would be triggered if the best lay odds go down to 4.9 or below, not the last price matched or back odds.

Also you are using multiple tabs. Each tab has it's own settings. Is it possible you set the stop loss parameters on a different tab and didn't notice it wasn't set on the tab you actually placed the bet on?

I am still sure everything is correct and that it should have triggered and matched as the horse in question went on to win! The cancel stop loss box was definitely highlighted in red, yet there was nothing in "view transaction log" in account. Could you please send me a link to the version prior to 1.1.0.66x46 and I will use that one, at least for now. Although will it auto update to the latest version anyway?

Sorry that version does not exist anymore. Can you send me the diagnostic log next time it happens. I haven't changed the stop loss code for several versions.

Yes, no problem Gary. If I am on another page and press F3, would that cancel all bets, on all pages, including the Stop Loss?

No, it only cancels bets for the selected tab.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
