Changing an Offset / Stop Loss Bet

Postby gizzard » Tue Feb 22, 2011 12:01 am

Is this the way that you change an Offset/Stop Loss bet when one has been triggered but not yet matched?

1. Determine the bet reference in My Bets
2. Put that Bet Reference into column T against the selection and use UPDATE(STAKE) to alter the odds(stake)?

Or, am I missing something and there's a much easier way?

You are correct. You need to determine the ref and then use the UPDATE trigger.

You can also choose "Offset bet references" under "Additional columns" when linking to Excel. You can then use this column to get the offset bet references.

The refs are delimited by ; and are suffixed by the following.
P offset bet placed as a result of original bet being partially matched
F offset bet placed as a result of original bet being fully matched
S offset bet is a stop loss bet

So you could receive several refs suffixed with P followed by a final ref suffixed with F or a final bet suffixed with S

I never knew about those. That's great, I'll take a look.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
