Automatic Lay Betting In Liability Mode

Postby raldridge » Tue Feb 22, 2011 9:04 am

Can one set up a list of lay bets in liability mode using Gruss and Excel?.
These would need to be fully automatic betting on UK races overnight Australian time whilst us Aussies are asleep

Also can liability be set less than 5 in Gruss?.
I am in trial mode with Gruss at the moment and when I use liability mode Gruss places the bet always at 17 cents no matter what the odds?.

Also how do I bring up Conditional bets in the Gruss software, I just cannot seem to find it?.

In Excel it's up to you to calculate the stake required, liability staking mode is for manual bets only. If you want to lay to liability then use a formula to calculate it. For example insert the following formula in cell S5: =5/(H5-1) to always have a liability of 5.

Yes, Betting Assistant can place bets below 5.

Here is a video demonstrating adding the conditional bets column.

Automatic Lay Betting In Liability Mode

Thanks Gary,

Inserting your bit of code in cell S5 did the trick alright.
But I changed the 5 for a 2 as I wanted my risk per bet
to be about 2% of my 100 unit bank.

So I am now betting automatically in $2 liability mode.
I had one bet last night at $50 and Gruss staked 4 cents
and Betfair did not charge me any commission.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
