One click fixed lay liability

Postby six gun » Sun Feb 27, 2011 12:39 pm

This question may have been asked elsewhere on the forum but I haven't definitely found my answer.

Currently I use Betfair Rapid. I lay horses in running to a fixed liability. Basically I observe the race, predict the odds on a horse will move out and lay the horse.

In running the odds are all over the place and you must be able to act quickly. A one click system to a fixed monetary lay liability is great. In Rapid I can set the maximum lay liability to say £200, so I can take prices up to 101 with the minimum £2 bet. Betfair automatically calculates the size of the lay bet for the lay odds available and the preset lay liability.

That is fine but I want to then green up with a backing bet when the odds have moved out. Betfair rapid does not give the greening up function.

Does Betfair Assistant give the trader the ability to take/place a one click lay bet to fixed liability rather than what I have seen which is placing a lay bet to a fix monetary value?

Click where it says "Staking mode: Stake" at the top of the screen. It will change to "Staking mode: Liability". Click it again and it will change to payout mode and again to change it back to stake.

Thanks Gary. Have just downloaded the software and I see it.

I will now set about learning the details.

When I click for the user manual in the software it instructs me to download Flash (which is already on the machine) I click the link to Adobe where it says there is no plugin for 64 bit machines (which mine is).

Is there another location for the manual?

You will need to view it in a 32 bit browser. You should have a 32 bit version of Internet Explorer on your PC. The link is http://www.gruss-software.co.uk/Betting ... p/help.htm

I solved the problem and kept my 64 bit system.

There is a prototype 64 bit plugin.
I uninstalled my Flash plugin and installed this prototype.

The user manual is now visible.

Thanks for your help.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
