Laying The Field In-Running

Postby cryhavoc » Thu Apr 21, 2011 1:41 pm

Hi there.

Very impressed with the software thus far but was wondering if someone can help me with the following.

I like to lay the field at a fixed price in running. I am not always around during racing so I place all my laying the field in-running bets in the morning. The BA makes this nice and quick as I can set a stake and lay price once and with one click per race the job is done.

However, if there are any non runners, The betfair price deduction comes into play and my in-running lay prices are reduced by a percentage. I don't want this to happen as the prices I am laying at in-running are almost always unaffected by non-runners. For example, I might be laying the field at 1.85 and after a non-runner this may be reduced to well below that figure.

Is there any way I can use BA to stop this happening? Is there a way I can set up each race in the morning so the bets are only placed when the market goes 'in-play'. Or is there a way I can stop the Betfair deduction being applied to my set prices?

Thanks in advance
MJ

You can do it with excel and BA but I don't know if you can do it with BA alone.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
