Help with 1000 bets

Postby Ian1506 » Sun Jul 10, 2011 3:00 pm

Hi folks. I've only just discovered BA and was doing OK until tonight and I am hoping you may be able to help.
I am playing with dutch betting using excel triggers and can get my bets to fire but on the BA screen they are coming up with my stake being $5, Odds at 1000 and profit/Liability being $4995.
At the moment I have just over $200 in my account and am dutching to a liability of about $4 per race. The bets obviously come up as unmatched and are then cancelled. I have tried the same formular with both UK dogs and UK horses with the same result.

To make matters more complicated for me when I dutch the same selections directly from BA (not using excel) they go through just fine.

Pretty sure I have a setting wrong somewhere but can seem to find it.
Cheers Ian. (Aus)

When it places bets below minimum allowed stake by Betfair which is $5 it first has to place a back bet for $5 at 1000. It then changes the stake to $5 plus your actual stake which creates an additional bet for your required stake. It then cancels the $5 bet and changes the odds to your required odds. It must be failing at the second step leaving the bets at 1000. Usually the cause is exceeded exposure, but it sounds like you have sufficient funds.

Can you send the diagnostic log to admin@gruss-software.co.uk
It is named BA_Diagnostix.txt and is located in c:\temp\Betting Assistant Logs

I think I have worked it out Gary. Had some quotation marks in my trigger where there should not have been. I'll keep at it and let you know if it happens again. Thanks for you quick reply earlier.

Cheers Ian

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
