Error placing bet

Sometimes when I place a bet from excel I get the following message on the BA last action line

Error placing bet Unexpected response received from server.

Can anyone explain the cause of this - can I assume it is a problem at the Betfair end and not of my causing or can it result from me making a mistake when creating the bet?


A second query - can anyone give me a guide as to the effect of the refresh rate I choose and the amount of data being loaded. I ask because my broadband connection has a 30gb/month limit and I wonder how near or over this i will go if I have BA runnung say, 10 hours a day with 5 tabs open and a refresh rate of 1.
