How do I set up Excel triggers for multiple races, please?

Postby greek1971 » Tue Aug 16, 2011 2:41 pm

Hello everyone, I am new to Gruss so apologies if this has already been answered. I have worked out how to use an excel spreadsheet to trigger a back bet 1 minute before the race start and to submit a tick offset lay (and a stop loss that continues in-play).

What I would like to do is at the start of the day do this for several races. At the moment I only seem to be able to set up one spreadsheet for one race.

I often do not have the time to sit in front of the computer watching the afternoon and night races so any help would be greatly appreciated.

How do I set up pre-determined Excel triggers for several races?

Thank you.

Hi,

Most users put the markets that want to bet on during the day into the Quick Pick List and then you can use one of the auto select options from the Market menu to make Betting Assistant auto select the next market at a pre-determined time.
Using the options available when you start logging to Excel you can make Betting Assistant clear the bet refs from a previous market when the next market is selected allowing new bets to be submitted into the new market.

Mark

Sorry to bother you again. Just tried what you mentioned and I cannot get it to work.

I selected 2 races for the quick pick list.

I then entered in the Trigger column "BACK-CLEAR" hoping that the trigger would back the selection then clear the bet reference column ready for the next race. This doesn't work. I have had a look at the user guide but I am not sure what format to enter this CLEAR command.

Also, once I get this to work, to guard against non-runners, etc. does the trigger have to have a IF statement reference to the name of the actual horse?

Cheers

Hi,

BACK and CLEAR are 2 separate triggers. You can't use them at the same time.

You don't need to worry about using the CLEAR trigger unless you want to make another bet on the same selection in the same race.

When you initially start logging to Excel there is an option in the window which you can tick labelled "Clear Bet refs on auto select market", so this option does the clearing for you automatically when the next market is auto selected. There is als an option if you manually select the next market.

With regards to non-runners; if the you select the market after a non-runner then it won't appear in the list of selections; if there is a non-runner whilst you have the market open then (NR) will be appended to the horse's name.

Regards,
Mark

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
