Using gruss to trade

Postby Groyusha » Wed Sep 14, 2011 6:46 pm

Hi,

I have a question about a possible trading scenario.

For the sake of the argument, Lets say I layed a horse at 3.

Now, I want to let the bet ride. However, I want to trade out for a loss if certain odds are reached in this scenario. For example, if the horse can be backed at 2.1 or worse, I would want to take those odds or best possible odds.

How do i set it up so that a bet is only placed if odds of 2.1 or worse are available, and NOT placing the bet at odds of 2.12 or better?

You are talking about the stop loss feature. Please read the user guide which can be viewed from the help menu. You need to read about the stop loss feature.

1. Select the stop loss options tab.
2. Select odds instead of ticks.
3. Enter 2.1 in the odds box.
4. Tick "level loss" if you want the loss spread across all selections.
5. Tick "Enable stop loss"
6. Place the lay bet.
7. Untick "Enable stop loss" so that it is not applied to subsequent bets.

If the best lay odds go down to 2.1 or below then a back bet will be placed at the current best lay odds less 1 tick.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
