betfair imposed delay & exposure exceeded

Postby littlebazz » Thu Mar 01, 2012 5:54 pm

When backing in running i have started getting a message in red on the bttm of the screen counting down from 3 saying delay imposed by betfair, when it reaches 0 there is a message of error placing bet exposure exceeded.
I am backing only and the stake is less than half of the account balance, there is also no exposure on other markets, i have very little knowledge of BA & use it for backing in running only but have never had a problem with single click backing before, any help greatly appreciated

Hi,

Betfair impose a bet delay on in play markets which for horse racing is 1 second.

See http://betfair-en.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/2667/kw/bet%20delay/

The fact that you are seeing a 3 second delay suggests that you are using below minimum stakes because in order to do below minimum stakes bet Betting Assistant has to place 3 bets.
See the following video which explains how you submit a below minimum stake bet on Betfair:-

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nk_J8ry2iKw

As you can see from the video if you wanted to place a 50p bet you still need to have at least £2.50 available balance.
I suspect you are working with a very small available balance which is why you are getting the exposure exceeded message.

Regards,
Mark

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
