CLEAR/CANCEL

Postby obias » Tue May 30, 2006 7:58 pm

Hi all...
Been playing around with triggered betting.
Question...Is trigger cell = CLEAR the same as trigger cell = CANCEL? :?

I've been using CLEAR but was wondering whether it should read CANCEL.

I want to LAY a selection, clear "the decks" then BACK the same selection for hopefully an arb profit (If the Gods of price movements are with me! :)

If my bet has been received at Betfair (ie I have a bet id & bet time) and I don't want the bet anymore is this do I CLEAR or CANCEL?

If CLEAR/CANCEL clears a bet that was PENDING from the spreadsheet does this mean it's no longer in the que at Betfair waiting to be matched?

I'm thinking CLEAR just clears the bet id etc from the spreadsheet BUT the bet is still at Betfair waiting to be matched.
Am I right?

I'm desperately trying to avoid VBA as my knowledge in that area is limited to what I've taught myself from a book "VBA programming in a weekend" ... Gave me a headache! ........ so if anyone has any formula or code snippets that can LAY, CLEAR/CANCEL then BACK or vice versa I'd really appreciate it. :D

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
