Don't think it's available using betfair trader at the moment.

You could always try using a webquery linking to www.betfair.com/lite/ might need to mess around with some VB for the refresh to update the balance - But at least it'll allow you to get your balance into excel

Hi Captain,

Could you explain how this could be done? (particularly the VBA refresh part)

I feel that an account balance on the spreadsheet would be of HUGE benefit.
I'm currently building a trader spreadsheet and it would really help for this.

I've tried to do as you suggested, but I had more success with just Betfair than Lite.

Thanks,

Mark.

Update:

Its almost working using the main Betfair site, but it freezes the workbook during web query refreshes...

Also, my balance isn't displayed, it reads "Funds: funds" (maybe because it doesn't know I'm logged in??)

I'm pulling the information from http:www.betfair.com/Header.do?

Hi all,

I am new here, and downloaded the software two days ago. This is really amazing. It does the job much better than the commercial products I have spent a lot of money for.

Maybe I can contribute a bit as far as the balance in the Excel sheet is concerned. It was one of the things I was missing right from the beginning.

What I have done is keep a browser window with betfair open in the background. When I need the balance I use a macro that goes to that browser window, and just scratches the balance from the screen and returns it to my Excel sheet.

It was quite a bit of work to get it going, but so far it seems to work fine now.

The macro software I am using for this is Macro Express, but there are many other products available that might do the job as well.

Cheers
Günter

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
