FLAG

Postby BERTRAND » Mon Apr 01, 2013 10:38 am

I am Backing one horse before the "off" with an auto level offset in play.
I have a 5 sec trigger window for the "back". My selection is determined by "rank" and this can change within the 5sec window. What sort of flag can I use to prevent more than one backing bet being placed? I can't use my normal flag because this would prevent the offset bet triggering(I think). I have enabled the display of "Offset Bet" and "Offset Bet Reference" on my sheet.

Hi,

You could set a count of the Bet Reference column, so as soon as a bet is accepted i.e. there is a bet reference, then you can use the count as part of your trigger criteria, i.e. if equal to 1 then don't bet.
So for example in cell T3 you could use =COUNTA(T5:T54)

Regards,
Mark

Thanks Mark
For years it has never crossed my mind to use the COUNTA function!
I'm wondering if the Betfair servers can cope with the 9 meetings today

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
