Excel Betting

Postby agatity » Wed Jan 15, 2014 12:21 am

Hi Gruss and Gary,

I registered to ask the following: I'm looking for a bot which can do the this: I would like to bet on greyhounds, backing the traps based on the previous results from the very same day.
So, let's assume that a system is 'signing' a bet (which is based for example on the first three races of the day, like 11:03, 11:11 and 11:19 results), then the bot can bet on the next race (at 11:28).
It means I cannot define a fixed trap (or traps) for the day, or for the events. It is a dynamic thing based on previous results. Can I do it with this piece of software?

I have an excel file, I did my homework, so I developed my system and tested in excel for over the last 6 months. So I know how to make formulas in excel and how to convert and idea to excel formulas and how to test it for over thousands and thousands of races...

Can I link Gruss Software with my excel file? I assume I should make a copy of my excel file and clear the datas in it, so I would have an empty "day" and then define a column or cells which are linked to the software and in the software I should config where the software should "looking for" the command; wait for that cell's value "lets bet" or something similar...

The main question is this possible with Gruss?
If the answer is yes, where can I find some manuals about it? Which are the main threads about this? (I am willing to learn this software and read such a lot topcis if the answer is yes...)
Can the excel define the stakes as well? (because my system uses staking)

Thanks,

Áron

PS: sorry for my english, my native language is hungarian...

You should be able to do what you describe without any problems - help file can be found here, see the 'Using Excel' section for information about linking to Excel.

Thanks, Davez, I've started to read some topics and definitely I see I should be able to do this. I'll download the program today and start to learn how to do it. :)

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
