Postby wizardofmann » Wed May 14, 2014 10:07 am

I have been corresponding with Neil (God help him) to set up a bot for me but need some more info from you seasoned pro's.

After nearly a year of using BA, I am looking to advance into Excel and I am :? dot com. Firstly, do I need to have Excel installed on my computer to start logging markets. Secondly, if I do, do I need to use Microsoft Excel or can I install OpenOffice?

I have looked at the demo video on how to set up Excel logging but I am still none the wiser  I know what a worksheet is but not clear where to get a workbook :?: :!:

Green or what.....please help

Yes you need Microsoft excel it can't link to openoffice.

A workbook can contain more than one worksheet, so you can have separate sheets all logging different data or doing separate calculations to keep things nice and tidy.

Just think of it like a normal book that contains lots of pages (sheets)

If you look at the picture below you'll see a open workbook, look at the bottom and you'll see that workbook has separate tabs that can be selected they are the worksheets, Sheet1, Sheet2 and Sheet3

Don't worry, once you get started things do fall into place alot quicker

Maybe this picture will show. At the top you can see it's called Book 1 and contains 3 Sheets

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
