Hedge/tick offset?? error

Postby aubweaver » Sun Oct 20, 2019 3:00 am

Yesterday I was placing lay bets quite successfully and without any incidents when suddenly an auto hedge/tick offset started to occur with corresponding back bets. I would place a lay bet and imediatially afterwards a back bet would go through. To try to correct the situation I would place a further lay and again a back bet would appear. I checked all my tick offset boxes etc and I couldn't find any boxes ticked or enabled I ended up closing and then restartind BA and it all cleared up, I then continued without incident.
This has never happened before, could I have accidently enabled someting or could there have been another underlying problem?
Thanks Peter.

Hi,

It does sound like you had the Tick Offset enabled.
It is a global option meaning that it will be applied to all bets whilst it is enabled.
There is an easy way to see if it is enabled.
At the top of the Betting Assistant screen you will see it says TO and next to that it will either show a red cross (disabled) or a green tick (enabled).
You can click on the cross or tick to toggle between disabled and enabled.

The same applies to Stop Loss (SL).

Regards,
Mark

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
