Hi guys, I'm currently setting up my days trading before I go to work and leaving the laptop running all day, although it's new the fans starting to run constantly, is using a VPS the best way of running gruss all day or would a tower be better, not that Tec savvy hence the advice, many thanks.

If your Asus spec is similar to this one at Currys I would expect it run fine. If you are at work how do you know the fan is running constantly ?

Whilst there is a case to be made for having a VPS you are looking at £20 - £25 in further overheads, and I am not sure if it is worth the extra.

Yeah it is similar to that, the fan starts running more or less as soon as I turn it in, was on to the Asus team last night and might be a fault, wasn't sure if the fault had developed because I leave it on all day everyday hence looking at alternatives, thanks again for your help

If the fan is coming on so soon it is to compensate for excessive load somewhere in the system. Have you run a diagnostic ? Check out the link below.

Hi
Is bettingdev.com still recommended? Any other vps service that I should be looking at?
This is to run BA from Asia.

My software (The Betting Machine) won't link to my Betdaq Gruss on my VPS today, its worked fine for over a year now.
It runs okay with Betfair and it runs okay on Betdaq on my pc just not with Betdaq on the VPS.
I've not touched anything on the VPS.
any ideas what to do?

The first thing I would try is reboot the VPS.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
