Countdown timer

Postby 813615 » Fri Sep 13, 2024 2:52 pm

Hi guys
Just started trading the place market and having trouble with the countdown timer in cell D2 'sticking'. My bets are set to trigger 1-10 seconds before the off but quite a few don't send due to this timer sticking, sometimes for up to 40 seconds.
My sheet has two workbooks running, one for the win market and one for the place and I'm using the latest version of excel.
Any ideas on how I can fix?
Many thanks
Lee

Do you uhave a lot of code running or problems with your internet connection? Never heard of the D2 cell sticking, especially for 40 seconds.

What refresh rate are you using? Remember if it's set to a minute that means the sheet will only update every minute and D2 every minute, the program settings dictate the excel sheet updates not the other way round

Hi mate, thanks for reply.
Refresh is set to auto but clock, odds are all moving constantly within each second. The coding isn't too much, although I do have 4 strategies going at same time so I have 8 pages of gruss open, 4 for the win market and 4 for place. I then have an excel sheet for each strategy that has two worksheets, again 1 for win and 1 for place so could be that I have too much? Win is ok as they're set to send once the market is in play it's just the place market that's set to between 1 and 10 seconds...

Should easily be able to handle 8 sheets. I've no idea why the D2 is sticking/lagging though especially if all other data on the sheet is being updated each second. Is it VBA or formulas? Maybe add some VBA to replicate the D2 cell and see if that's fine, i.e. pick the time out of A1 and compare to current time. Otherwise probably best to email support.

I'm using formula mate as I've never done VBA, I've never noticed before as I only did in play, I'll email support to see if they can help, many thanks for your reply.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
