Historical Data - Skip to next Market

Postby Walshie1987 » Mon Jul 21, 2025 8:01 pm

Hi,

Firstly I can't believe I've only just found this software, it's exactly what I need to test my automated strategies, it's made my life so much easier already and after testing a new method with a small 2 days sample it's already looking like it will pay for itself!

I do have a question in regards to skipping to the next market automatically.

My strategy is based on UK greyhounds and requires a switch to the market 1min before the off. I've set this up but there are still large gaps e.g. throughout the night if I'm testing multiple days that take a while - even when set to 8x speed - which works for my strategy.

Is there a way I can skip to the next race automatically without having to wait for the gaps in-between? I hope this makes sense.

Cheers and thanks again,
Chris

Hi,

In the Historical Data settings in Preferences you can advance the timeline automatically.
The earliest you can set is 1 min after previous market has closed then you set automatic advancement to x minutes before next market start time, e.g. 1 min before start, this would give you a minimum gap of 2 mins between previous market closing and next market.

Regards,
Mark

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
