Trying My Best (but not good enough...LOL)

Hi Guys,

In the end I downloaded the trial version of office 2007 and that seems to have solved the office 97 not working problem.

However, I have spent hours trying (unsuccessfully) to get a formula correct for what I want to try to do.

This is the formula i ended up with, but come race time nothing happened

=IF(AND($D$2>"00:00:00",$D$2<"00:01:00",F7<=R7),"BACK","WAIT")

I am trying to get it to back whatever horse (or horses) meets the Maximum price I put in column R for that horse (or horses), between the official off time and 2 minutes before the race using cell D2 (time to off) so that I can use it to bet when I'm away from my laptop.

I believe typing $D$2 was correct as I want to obviously use cell D2 for every horse.

But where am I going wrong.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated, but please bear in mind it took all my brain cells to arrive at the above formula...LOL

Excel treats time as a number so 00:00:00 would equal 0.00 and 00:01 =0.000694 try

If 0 min = 0 and 1 min = 0.000694, could you tell me the numbers for whole minutes up to say 10 minutes

Easiest way to find the time is type 00:10:00 or whatever time you want into a cell then change the format to general and it'll show the decimal equivalent

Hi All

Still having problems I'm afraid.

The formulas are working fine - I'm well pleased with them.

Having problems with setting up the races on excel to bet when I'm absent.

Set up a workbook for Southwell with a sheet for each race. Typed in my formulas for the triggers with no bother.

However, when I set up the races for each sheet I find that having set up sheet 200 for the 200 race when I move on to sheet 230 and set that up for the 230 race it also changes the info on sheet 200 to the 230 race !!!

So I end up with 2 sheets for the 230 race and none for the 200 race. This happens on all races I try to set up.

Any ideas fellas ?

Why have a separate sheet for each race ? BA can auto select markets at set times so it' just as easy to have one sheet doing all your betting.

If you just want to bet individual horses you can easily select them and any odds , stake etc using vlookup from a separate sheet. Have a look at this thread as it may be the sort of thing you're trying to do

You need to have a separate tab/page on BA for each race - I suspect you only have one tab open in BA. Click 'New Page' - three from the left in the menu to get a new tab.

Right click somewhere and a box with 'close' pops up. You know what to do then ..

Just to follow on from Captains post about time, 1 as far as Excel is concerned is 1 day. So to work in minutes you divide your figure by 1440 (minutes in a day) and to use seconds divide by 86400 (seconds in a day).
