Spread Backs after matched Lays

Postby Volker0866 » Sun May 13, 2007 1:03 am

Hello,
I want to Spread some BACKS after a matched LAY Bet.
For example: Tennis, only 2 Selections Player A or B.
When PlayerA's odd comes down to 1.10, excel should match the LAY 1.10 at 100 Units. Ok - easy to do.
Now, the excel-script should place some BACK Bets for PlayerA - automatically - in the form:
BACK 50 Units @ 1.20 and
BACK 20 Units @ 1.40 and
BACK 20 Units @ 2.00 and
last 10 Units untouched.

Logging current prices have a fixed format, i think. This is what I found in the demonstration video no3.
For example, on horses I get 8 Selections. They come line by line to excel.

How do I Back the above mentioned spreded backs automatically?
Is it possible to tell excel:
SelectionA BACK 50@1.20 (Line 1)
SelectionA BACK 20@1.40 (Line 2, here stands usually the second Selection, SelectionB.)
SelectionA BACK 20@2.00 (Line 3, ...SelectionC)

The main question: Does the system gets confused when I mix up the Selection?
And ... if the system gets confused, how can I do this easely. Some tips for me?

Don't hurry - at the moment I don't have excel, but I already want to create a sheet with OpenOffice, which later I will copy to Excel.

Thanks in advance.

I would suggest that you open four tabs in BA, all with the match odds. Put tab 1 in sheet1, tab 2 in sheet2 etc. Then use sheet1 to decide when to trigger the lay, and sheets2-4 to trigger the backs using data from sheet1. Problem I could forsee is how to handle the situation where only part of the lay is matched.

Hi Ian,
good idea with the tabs, should work. Thanks
Partly matched LAYs should also be no problem I think, because I can compare Profit/Loss with Stake.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
