Excel open pages

Postby aelara » Thu May 31, 2007 11:02 am

Guys
How many instances of excel pages can I have open at the same time (for trigger betting purposes)? Obviously I know I can have three, but would the software still work properly if I had ten or more pages open? :?:

I have no problem with 30 excel pages open using office 2007.
Tried it with Office 2003 but it stuggles at around 20 pages.

Thanks for the reply monkey.
Will be out the whole of Sunday, so will be giving it a bash then. Will probably need around twenty pages open. I also run Office 2007 so hoping for the best.

I have moved up to excel 2007 but when I log prices,
the CPU usage goes upto 98% and the fan kicks in.

its not quite as bad when refresh rate is 2 secs.
I am only logging to one sheet, although there is a lot of calculations graphs etc,
does anyone else find this, and has anyone got any ideas on how to reduce the CPU usage?

When I run my spreadsheet with 30 pages, the CPU runs at 90 to 100% for upto 16 hours per day.
It runs like this every day with no problems (only the noise)

Turning the refresh rate down helps, I set all mine at 9 seconds.
If there where two refresh rates (1 INPLAY and 1 at all other times) it would help my CPU.

I have tried the BETA version which does make a difference to the CPU.
The only downside is it does not like hibernating each night.

Hope this helps.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
