with 4 tabs open all refreshing at 0.4 i get usually 6-8 but sometimes it goes up to 15

Mainly when actual refresh goes to 3000 it seems like BA freezing and the numbers in the bracket remaining stable

If that makes any difference in performance options i get the following
price refreshes count 19400 - failed 140 - 0.72%
bet refreshes 5365 - failed 45 - 0.86%

Friday 14 both failed fields were at 1.2% (if i am remembering correct)

So you are getting intermittent slow responses. Are the two VPS acounts with different providers?

Sorry. I don't know why it slow for you. I don't think BA is at fault so I cannot suggest anything at this point. Of course if I do find a fault in BA then I will fix it.

After 2-3 days which everything was working fine, today i am getting again troubles with actual refresh times. As Gary told me that is has nothing to do with my international account because refreshes are the same for users at the UK server..

So apparently the problem is with my vps provider.
Can someone suggest how i can point out, that there is a problem with the connection? I don't know anything about ping times etc and I don't know a way to actual check if my connection is ok or not...

In speedtest.net, I usually getting good results (i have heard that they are a crap though?)
for example today
ping=4ms
download speed=~30mbs
upload speed=~25mbs

2.Can someone suggest a good and reliable vps provider?

It's a bit slower in Sweden today also, actual refresh normally for in play horse race 200ms (40-50) . In the morning it was for 200 ms (80-100), now it is 200ms (100-120). I have been losing today so maby thats the problem.. :?

After the last notorious "schedule maintenance" I have to report that apparently for International Users things are even worst. Now for bet placement BA response much slower. The lowest time is approx. 240 ms (before it was 180ms) and the highest is 550 ms (before it was 380ms)

Any other international users can confirm this please?

thanks

Hi,
I am an International user, but I do not see that the response times for the bets are worse than before.
If I look at the transactionlog I see that the response times for the bets are between 1312-1572 ms.
This is even better than before.

The response time is usually 1500ms.
If you get 400ms how do you do it?

As I have mention earlier I am running BA through vps based in UK
The range of 1300-1500 ms you are talking about ( i believe in running) is what i get right now. Before the maintenance though i was getting in running
a range between 1180-1380ms

In running as you know every ms is critical, especially when there is not a "level field" and the uk accounts getting a range of 1050-1200 ms i guess...

Hi,
My response times Not in Play are between 302-482 ms. The response times In Play are 1312-1572 ms.
Checking some of the older transaction logs it is not worse as before.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
