Excel - Automation Error

Postby richardphunt » Wed Feb 20, 2019 11:42 am

Yesterday sparked up BA and it went through an update routine (haven't used it for a couple of weeks).
Update successful.
New BF login screen. Logged in OK.
Started up my excel workbook with tons of VBA code which is all COM driven
the line that SETs the BA.Com object returns the error ...

Automation Error (no other test just some numbers) if these are relevant I can get these but I am not at that location currently.

I Googled the error and as always there is a number of solutions offered.

The one which I decided to implement was registering the comctl.ocx with regsrv32 this was also successful.
I did though register the 64bit version of the .dll as my machine is a 64 bit running an X86 version of MS Office 2007.

There probably has been a couple of windows updates in the 'downtime' time but I cannot be certain.

Any ideas why this is happening?

Hi,

Please do a manual re-install of Betting Assistant which should fix the problem.

First uninstall via Windows Control Panel and then re-install via the following link:-

Regards,
Mark

As you would expect the advise to reinstall was SUCCESSFUL!!

Thanks Mark.

Just thought I ought to confirm this as I had forgot to do so earlier in the year :)

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
