What does Excel UPDATESTAKE trigger do?

Postby MollyMoo » Tue Feb 18, 2020 3:19 pm

For the Excel UPDATESTAKE trigger the documentation says:

"If the stake column is a lower value to the current stake of the unmatched bet then the bet will be updated and the bet reference will remain the same.
If the stake column is a higher value then a new bet for the difference will be created and the new bet ref will be shown suffixed by N."

My question is regarding what happens to the bet's position in the queue after the UPDATESTAKE command has been carried out. Does the bet remain at the same position in the queue in either or both cases above, or is the initial, unmatched bet cancelled and a new bet submitted to the end of the queue?

Thanks in advance for any info.

Hi,

If you are updating the stake to a lower amount then your bet reference stays the same, i.e. your bet remains in the same place in the queue.

If you increase the stake, a new bet is created for the difference and that new bet will be at the bottom of the queue but your original bet amount will retain its position in the queue.

Mark

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
