Head to Head markets

Postby Matson » Tue Apr 14, 2020 7:21 am

Have had Gruss for a few days and trying to find a layout which suits me most.

Was going okay until this afternoon, when I noticed "Head to Head" betting markets suddenly appearin my Market List. Am I able to remove thse markets, as they are completely irrelevant to me.

Further (but of less importance) when I click AUS horse racing, I see trotting meetings included in the list (Globe Derby, Menangle, Albion Park etc). Are they meant to be part of the category of AUS horse racing, or is it a mistake?

Thanks,
Matson

Hi,

Do you mean in the Market Tree?
The Market Tree shows all markets that Betfair make available on the Exchange.

Or do you mean in the Quick Pick List which is a filtered list of markets?

Mark

Yes Mark, I meant the Market tree. But it seems to have resolved now. It must have been a glitch.

I tried using the Quick Pick and my markets suddenly disappeared. The print is also quite small for my imperfect vision and can barely see it. But I presumed if I dragged the markets to Quick Pick again, that the "Head to Head" betting option would have appeared in Quick Pick as well (unless I dragged each race individually.

Cheers,
Gary

PS. Can the Quick Pick font be made larger, or should I ask a separate question?

Hi,

If you drag markets from the Market Tree you will get whatever is in the Market Tree.

However, there are options from the Market Menu for populating the Quick Pick List which will filter what is in the tree although this is limited to most popular choices so does depend on what markets you are wanting to use.

Unfortunately, there is no option for changing the font style or size that is used in the Quick Pick List.

Mark

I now create my quick pick list shortly after acceptances. By doing it early there are no A v B markets in existencer. This solves the problem for me. Also, now that I am used to it, I am quite happy with the font size of the quick pick list.

Cheers,
Matson

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
