Exceeding API Call Limits Betdaq

Postby Wittmann44 » Wed Jun 10, 2020 4:56 pm

Hi

I've been using the conditional betting tool on Gruss for about 8 months without issue. I generally fire up around 14/15 single lays in the days racing before I go to work to trigger at the off if between a certain price. All run very smoothly until the last few days when I started missing bets and then today I received the following email from Betdaq and nothing triggerred.

My settings are all default. I asked them could they increase my call limits but they said no.

Many thanks for any help.

W

How many markets do you have open at the same time?
What refresh rate have you set for each market?
Are you running multiple instances of Betting Assistant? It can’t limit the requests across multiple instances and this is usually the issue.

14/15 at the same time.

Only 1 copy of the software

Never changed settings so not sure where refersh rate is. As I said only been a problem in the last few days.

I intend to post for a developer to trigger from EXCEL if I cant workaround this

The default refresh rate is 1 second so in theory 15 markets refreshing 60 times a minute is 900 getPrices. It does limit the refreshes to less than that though. I am going to check and get back to you.

Thanks.

If I can change the setting to 2 seconds it wont make any differnce so just point me in the right direction. I Just dont know how to do it. I'm unfortunately grindingly old school in my betting and this is all new to me.

Options, then preferences, then general, then change default refresh rate to 2 seconds.

You will also find a refresh drop-down under the Betting Options in the top part of the application as I have highlighted in the image below. You can change the refresh rate to whatever you want and whenever you change markets it will go back to default. I find this most useful.

If you uncheck the auto box, it will stop making any calls to the exchange - useful if you have multiple sessions running but beware it is easy to miss so you could be fooled into thinking the prices you see are live if it is unchecked.

The user guide in the help menu is very good!

Hope this helps.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
