Small parts of my bet

Postby clinton » Thu Sep 03, 2020 11:36 pm

Sorry I have a problem

I open some Back/lay trades where, if the offset bet remains unmatched, it is closed to BSP.
The problem is that sometimes my initial back bet is matched in small parts, and so the second lay bet to close these small trades has a small liability. So it happens that at the off this small lay bets are cancelled by betfair because they are below 10 GBP, leaving me in a bad situation.

Is there anything I can do to fix this (for me) big problem?

Go to general preferences and tick "Wait for full match before placing tick offset bet". It will only place the offset bet when the original bet is fully matched therefore no small chunks.

Ty Gary, I know this option. But the big risk is that the off arrives and no offset bet was placed because the first bet remained only partially matched... :-(

Unfortunately the software does not have a feature that can directly solve your problem. You will have to design your spreadsheet to handle this by placing bets after the off.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
