Cannot Accept Bet message

Postby lindemann » Fri Sep 04, 2020 12:32 pm

Another problem that seemed to come up only yesterday afternoon is this "CANNOT ACCEPT BET" message that comes up on a new triggered betting spreadsheet I'm trialling. Trial stakes are £1 and 50p, I could try £2 I suppose but is there anyway you can get BF to revert to "normal"?

What version of Betting Assistant are you using?

1.3.0.46

I've tried 80p & £1.60 but no joy, £2 is OK obviously

There’s more to that error message than we can see unfortunately. Not every user will get that error under the same circumstances. Can you send your diagnostic log to admin@gruss-software.co.uk. Select ‘open settings folder’ from the options menu and you will find the logs in the diagnostic logs folder.

Thanks for the log files. The triggers are BACKSP which are Betfair SP bets. The minimum stake for an SP back bet is £2, it’s impossible to place less. If it was simply a BACK trigger then it would work.

Ah, Ok, I've been merrily placing £1 and 50p bets at out-of-market odds with SP In Play selected but this doesn't work with triggered bets and BACKSP brings the £2 stake into it. Thanks for explaining this Gary, I'm sorted now with a slightly modified strategy.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
