General question about excel

Postby macarony » Sun Sep 20, 2020 9:49 pm

If I have a list of names starting at A1 and then goes down the list next cell A2, lets say there are 8 names with John smith in A1 how can I write a formula that every time I run the routine it drops John smith down one place until his name reaches the end of the range of names, the next time I run the routine he goes back to A1 and the process repeats?
thanks

Not too clear what your after so might be best to give some real example but doesn't sound too hard to have some kind of rolling list if that's what you're after.

If we say the cells are A1:A8 you could simply copy the cell block down then copy the last cell back to A1. So something like

Code: Select all
Sub revolve()
Range("A2:A9").Value = Range("A1:A8").Value
Range("A1").Value = Range("A9").Value
Range("A9").Value = ""
End Sub

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
