Hedge Partially matched due to offset taking SP

Postby cjones198 » Tue Oct 06, 2020 9:15 pm

Hi does any one know of a good way I can fully hedge a partially hedged bet due to my offset taking SP in excel?

For example say I lay 3.00 using £2 stake with a 10 tick offset but the market SPs at 3, my levelling hedge stake 10 ticks above 3 would be matched at SP, and thus a full £2 stake would not meaning I have liability in play.

Help much appreciated

There's a trigger called CLOSEC that greens/reds up on the selections same as the close all positions button. I've never used it but there should be examples on the forum somewhere. Personally I'd just leave the positions to run as chasing prices to green out in running usually means you'll just have the losers matched and long term it's pretty much swings and roundabouts and profits/losses will balance out.

Thanks Captain, I've decided to leave it run like you say. As the maths works long term

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
