LAY-T10-SPC

Postby NorthView » Wed Dec 09, 2020 1:25 pm

Hi,

I'm cycling through the races pre-off using this trigger on selected nags. When the lay is immediately matched BA correctly requests the offset Back bet (at BSP if the Back bet's not matched pre-off) but if the lay's only matched later the offset Back bet doesn't get requested.

Is this a bug?

Hi,

You must keep the market open until the offset bet is requested.
If you move to a different market before that happens then offset will be cancelled.
To open other markets whilst you are waiting for an offset to trigger, use the "New page" option from the Menu to open a new tab page where you can open further markets which can also be linked to a separate Worksheet.

Regards,
Mark

I see.

Is your suggestion having two tabs for each meeting (one for the initial lays and one for the offset backs) and have tab two fire the back trigger when the lay has been matched?

On a busy day that could be 20+ tabs in BA - will a Duo Core i7 16G cope with this?

Is this more straightforward and better performance-wise than loading all the win nag markets for the day into one tab and using the same SPC trigger there? Would that work?

Trying to save myself dev time by not going of down the wrong route!

Thanks Mark.

Edit: the last point should read

Is this more straightforward and better performance-wise than loading each win nag race for a meeting into its own tab and using the same SPC trigger there? Would that work?

I've done this with the football markets by using a coupon but is it possible with racing?

Hi,

You can have them all open in one sheet in a Coupon view.

See https://www.gruss-software.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=10816

With regards to how well it works, I would say try it and see how the CPU on your computer copes.
If it's not suitable then you would need to look at handling in a different way.
Basically you need to look for a solution where the market is kept open until the offset bet has fired.

Mark

Thanks Mark, I'll give it a go - I thought there'd be a way of using a coupon but couldn't see how.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
