List of excel codes

Postby Kaptainkev » Sun Apr 04, 2021 10:23 am

Hi all.
After using the software for a number of years I have finally began to explore the excel spreadsheet. However there seems only extremely limited information in the manual regarding “codes” to use... ie BACK or LAY. Is there a list anywhere of useful codes to use,
I am looking at trying to trigger soccer matches to enter bets at a certain time and exit at a set time. However the manual gives absolutely no guidance on how to do these type of triggers.
Any help or advice would be great.
Thanhs

Hi. You would have to use Excel to keep track of the time and only get it to enter your bets when the Excel timer meets your criteria.

If your timings are relative to the official kick off time, then use Cell D2 for your calculation.

If they are relative to the actual kick off time, then track when the game goes In Play, as indicated by Cell E2. If you are using VBA then this is simple to do using the VBA Timer variable.

Hope this helps.

Steve.

Hi Steve,
Thank very much for your reply.
How do you find information such as"cell D2" is for time?
There seems to be very little in the manual regarding "codes".
A VBA is a virtual betting Assistant?
Sorry for the basis questions, but the user manual is extremely lacking...
Thanks
Kevin

Hi,

Please see http://www.gruss-software.co.uk/Betting_Assistant/UserGuide/log_current_prices.htm

This part of the manual shows what data is output into Excel.

VBA stands for Visual Basic for Applications and is Microsoft's built-in programming language that you can access in Excel.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
