Why has the race status stopped working?

As far as I can see it is working. Which markets are not working? Are you seeing any text where the status usually displayed?

It was just displaying "Dormant" and the last update was 07:50 this morning. It's OK now.

Must have been an issue at Betfair's end.

Yes issue at Betfair. I raised it with them this morning. It was fixed but is now not updating again.

I am sorry this is an issue, but I can assure you the problem is Betfair, not an issue with Betting Assistant. If the data is there it will display it.

Still a problem as of 19th Dec 2022.

It is a BetFair issue, as I have a number of Bots which communicate directly with the Betfair system and I can confirm I have seen this issue intermittently over several weeks.

Has anyone had an answer from Betfair on this?

I've raised it several times. They simply say they are aware of it and are working on it. But they blame a 3rd party provider. It has been very inconsistent the last few weeks.

Thanks Deestar :)
A pretty typical PR response from Betfair.
I'll raise it with them too, so they know the issue hasn't gone cold.
Having to rewrite code for a client because the feature is so unreliable.

  --- GaryRussell --- Any chance of including the Race Status in COM?????

I'm going to post an update to the Beta version in the next few days. I can include race status through COM in this update.

Do you mean in COM also? I'll see what I can do.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
