CANCELLED_NOT_PLACED

Postby gvigliani » Tue Dec 20, 2022 10:01 am

Hi Gary , Good morning.
I have a problem that is bugging me.
I make a first play:
preBet_ref = ba.placebet((GreenFav(GF) - 1), "L", oddcom, StakExcg, True)

Perfectly executed.
When executing the next which involves only changing the "B" values, oddcom and StakeExcg give me the Canceled_not_Placed error.
What am I doing wrong ?

Thank you

CANCELLED_NOT_PLACED comes from an update request. It means it cancelled the bet, but could not place the new bet. You must be placing a below minimum stake bet to get this error.

eg. odds: 1.1, stake £0.90

1. Lay bet of £1 at 1.01 is placed
2. £0.10 is cancelled leaving a lay bet for £0.90 at 1.01
3. The odds are updated to 1.1. Betfair actually cancel the bet and place a new bet at 1.1. The bet placement part is failing, but I don't know why.

Have you checked if the odds and stake are acceptable? Can you give examples of exact stakes and odds used?

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
