help to trigger please

Postby dgs2001 » Thu Apr 05, 2007 6:00 pm

Hi
I'm just about ready to test my triggers having spent hours working out spread sheets.
My question is
How do I fire my bet info into Trading Assistant?

Is it just a case of placing the word back (or lay) into column N row (myselection) and the odds into column O and the stake into column P.

Will Trading Assistant then read these values and fire the bet into betfair ?

Also can I get a confirmation in my spreadsheet of matched status?

Thanks Duncan

PS If I could get Betting Assistant to run I would use it instead!!

Yes, that's all you have to do.

Once you've done that, in the next 4 columns you will see a bet reference (after PENDING briefly), a bet time, matched odds and matched stake. Those last 2 will update on each refresh so you can easily see if/when they are matched.

Mitch
Thanks for the prompt reply

This is a great program.
I've been searching the forums and you seem to be the man with the Know How!!

And I even discovered my problem whilst searching Capital BACK & LAY.
DOH.

My next question is 'how to back and lay the same horse from my spread sheet at the same time'?
This may sound stupid but trust me its not! (If it all goes t*ts up then Yeah it was stupid!!)
I have put together quite a complex set of triggers, all based on maths and probability (I Think!) which may throw out the same horse as a back and a lay,
As the two bets are effectivly from different systems both operating on a single trigger they both become active in my spread sheet at the same time.
This is not a problem when they are seperate selections but how can I back/lay the same horse?

Would I have to have a short delay perhaps whilst checking for a bet ref from one side of the bet and then as soon as the bet ref appears clear and trigger the lay ?
Can the trigger cell accept both arguments at once IE

if(trigger="Yes","BACK"&" "&"LAY")

Thanks Duncan

I think the only way you could lay and back at the same time would be to have 2 tabs in BA each sending data to separate worksheets - 1 for backing and 1 for laying.

You could back, then wait, then lay, but I think that would get very complicated very quickly.

Is your spreadsheet formulas or vba?

I've been searching the forums and you seem to be the man with the Know How!!

Just one of - there are lots of clever people here, some more active than others, but enough good guys to get most 'sensible' questions answered :)

Hi
My sheets are mostly formulas with some Vba as well.

My vba skills are only limited however I am trying to convert the whole thing to VB so it can be run as a stand alone!

Not overly confident of success on that front though!!

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
