Postby jamesgeegees28 » Thu Aug 15, 2024 2:45 pm

Hi
im trying to place a lay bet with a tick offset to trade out in run but seem to be having a few problems. can anyone talk me through the setup?
ive had the offset bets getting matched first or no offset getting matched even though price has hit the level. TIA.

Probably need to give a bit more info as can't see how you'd manage to get the offset portion matched first??

Are you betting manually or via excel?

Manually if you want the offset part to be kept in play you'd have to have the "Keep Offset IP" ticked in the betting options, that way the offset would still be live when the market goes in play.

For excel it's simply LAY-T20-IP or however many ticks you want placed.

Hard to know why your bets aren't matched bespite the price being hit but could be a lot of reasons like the price being hit before your bet hit the market or just being at the back of the queue. Think you'd need to give a clearer explanation of what's going wrong tbh.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
